A Strong Juniors Coaching Team For Season 2020

Rumbalara FNC is excited to announce Shannon Laidlaw is joining as Under 17s coach for season 2020.

We are proud to welcome Shannon to the family and take on the coaching role for our Under 17s team. Shannon comes to Rumba after serving as Development and Line Coach with the Murray Bushrangers and Junior Development Officer with the Picola and District League.

Shannon has co-coached the Seniors Strathmerton Football Club in 2010, a year after being awarded Strathmerton Best and Fairest. He has also assistant coached the Picola and District Seniors Interleague team and is a dual premiership player with Shepparton East.

Shannon has a wealth of talent in developing young talent and we look forward to him continuing to strengthen and support our Under 17s team.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Rumbalara FNC.” said Shannon Laidlaw, Rumbalara FNC Under 17s coach.

“There is a great junior program in place thanks to the current and past coaching staff. I am excited to be a part of continuing that journey with the Club in 2020.” said Shannon.

Shannon joins Jamie Atkinson and Phil Guthrie who are continuing on as our Under 14s co-coaches for season 2020, making the Club’s junior coaching team a winning combination.

We thank the incredible efforts of Levi Power who is joining AFL Goulburn Murray as Football Development Manager.

“I’m still going to be heavily involved helping Shannon out on game day” said Levi Power.

“I think it’s great to have someone of Shannon’s caliber taking the reigns next year and keep building on our successes.”

“Wins and loses aside, I think it’s a great appointment for our Club to keep developing our juniors. Our junior program has been very strong with the likes of Jamie Atkinson and Phil Guthrie co-coaching the Under 14s and Shannon will round out a very strong junior football coaching team.”

“I can’t wait to see how things go in 2020.” said Levi.

The Club thanks Levi for his continued efforts with our juniors and the community. We can’t wait for 2020 either and look forward to an incredible year ahead for all of our teams.

We are holding a “meet the coach” BBQ at Rumbalara FNC on the 15th January 2020 and everyone is invited to come down and find out what Shannon has in store for season 2020.

Pre Season will then kick back into gear Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s from the 20th January 2020.
