Rumba Ripples: RFNC has a long history of successful employment programs – Rumba Ripples is the program response to the significant gap in services and support to long term unemployed with multiple and complex barriers/issues to overcome, who are too often ignored as “too hard”. RFNC has been successful in winning a one year contract from DJPR to pilot the ripples program. The model being piloted is a social enterprise, which will be providing real world work experience within a supportive team environment.
The position is responsible for increasing the proportion of Aboriginal people employed in the Goulburn Murray workforce by creating job pathways through targeted training, mentoring and work experience.
The role will work with partner organisations and businesses that have signed up to minimum Aboriginal employment targets to ensure safe, culturally competent workplaces for the growing Aboriginal workforce. It will also ensure that candidates are matched appropriately for roles.
The position is also responsible for providing administration support for the program including coordinating meetings, managing contract variations, following up potential employers, and sourcing additional assistance from job service providers. This also involves reporting on program outcomes and promoting the program through social and print media.
