Gratitude means to be thankful for all the things that we have in our lives, no matter how small it may appear. In a world of so much materialistic items, it is very easy to get caught up in what we don’t have, or what we need to buy to make us happy.
However, when we are thankful or grateful for the things we have, it has been shown to have a powerful effect on our health and wellbeing. Gratitude can reduce stress, increase happiness and improve our self-esteem. Gratitude exercises can totally change the way we approach our days and outlook on life.
Gratitude can be simple to practice, finish the sentences below and ask yourself these questions every day;
- I am grateful for my family because…
- I am grateful for my culture because…
- I am grateful for who I am because…
- Something silly that I am grateful for is…
- I am grateful for today because…
Now take a moment, thinking about how you feel after Practicing Gratitude.
