STATEMENT FROM THE CLUB:
Rumbalara Football Netball Club’s 2020 season launch event Rumbafest on Saturday 21st March 2020 – is postponed until further notice.
The health and safety of the community is, as always, our top priority.
As a community organisation, we must act in our collective interest. We must all play a role “flattening the curve” to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in our community. The Club is following Government advice, cancelling all nonessential gatherings following the declaration of a state of emergency in Victoria as of 12 noon Monday 16 March 2020.
The Club has decided that given the escalating concerns around COVID-19, for the safety and wellbeing of our members, guests, staff and the broader community, we feel it’s best to postpone our event.
The Club has cancelled its scheduled practice matches and will continue to explore alternatives for players to continue training; however, we acknowledge the situation is fluid and any decision may change.
The Club’s mission is to strengthen the community and bring families together through strong, vibrant leadership. This can only be achieved by providing the safest possible environment and putting the wellbeing of the community at the core of all decision making.
Contributing to slowing the spread of COVID-19 is a focus, and this decision will help provide health services with the best possible chance to protect and treat those affected by COVID-19.
We need your support now more than ever, and we thank you for your understanding, cooperation and for sticking with us. Stay safe and healthy, and we’ll be in touch with further updates as soon as we can.
We will announce new dates as soon as it’s practical to do so.
